The Dance to Health Programme IN dudley
Dance to Health provides a fun, sociable way for people aged 50 and over to incorporate physical activity and in particular strength and balance training into their daily life.
Dudley Council have commissioned Dance to Health so it is free for participants.
The FREE in-person improvement programme is due to start at 5 locations in the Dudley Borough. Sessions are up to 90 minutes long with 30 minutes social time. Taught by professional, trained Dance Artists.
Weekly sessions will be at the following venues: Primrose Hill Community Church (Netherton), Quarry Bank Community Centre, Mary Dermott Memorial Hall (Coseley), Wellington Road Community Centre and Oakfield Community Centre (Brierley Hill).
We have three 30 minutes sessions from three of our dance artists so you can enjoy Dance to Health whenever and wherever you want to. Simply keep scrolling down this page to see the content. Remember to watch the welcome video and safety information before the sessions.
Dance to Health DVDs are available to loan from the following libraries: Dudley, Stourbridge, Kingswinford, Sedgley, Halesowen and Brierley Hill. Aesop also has a limited number of DVDs to give away through local social prescribing link workers.
“I was reluctant to give it a try at first because I was nervous about coming into a room full of strangers. But I’m so glad I did. Now when I come to Dance to Health, I am coming to see my friends.”
“After retirement my mobility had become increasingly compromised, by worn out, stiff and painful hips. After each session I was able to stand up straight instead of being stooped, if only temporarily, and move about more freely.”
