Become a dance artist
We are continually looking to expand our pool of community dance artists for our Dance to Health programmes. We recruit dance artists and practitioners already working with older people, in health and wellbeing programmes or inclusive dance, who are interested in adding falls prevention work to their portfolio.
Successful candidates will be trained in Postural Stability Instruction through Later Life Training.
This will be followed by our unique Dance to Health training that embeds the PSI structured exercise programme into your creative dance practice, leading to you becoming a Dance to Health Dance Artist and part of our team delivering our national programmes.
Aesop pays for the cost of PSI training, £804 per candidate, and offers case-by-case financial aid to support applicants who may incur financial hardship as a result of attending the six days of training. In return, we ask all successful candidates to deliver at least one of our 26 week falls prevention dance programmes. More details of the training process, and how the training dates are spread across four months are shown here: Dance to Health Training Information
Our contracts are flexible and designed to work around your freelance practice. We welcome dance artists from all genres, genders, and ages, either academic or vocationally trained.
